I’m a BAFTA award-winning, documentary director and creative storyteller with a deep curiosity for the world and its people.
Following 12 years at the BBC, I became a freelancer in 2016 and have worked with companies including BBC Studios, Wall to Wall, Dragonfly, Forest Productions, History Hit, the NHS, Migu China, Lupine Travel and London Sync.
I make both long and short-form content- varying from broadcast docs to Youtube and socials- crafting and sharing compelling stories and images whatever the platform.
I enjoy working across a broad range of genres but have particular expertise in adventure, access and human stories. I’ve lead teams across Alaska, Central America and Australia; managed access with police, hospitals, airports and built trust with traumatised individuals.
I’ve managed budgets ranging from six figures to shoestring, directed royalty, global experts and camera shy members of the public… worked with top camera crews and as a one-man-band selfshooter; tackled live shows, deep-access docs, drama reconstruction and short form digital stories…a bank of experience I can draw on for each new challenge.
Outside of work I’m a dad to two children and I adore spending time in nature and wild places- and while I live in London, Scotland is my happy place. I hike, paddle board, wild swim as well as attempt to play badminton and hockey. Son of a caterer, I love food - both cooking and eating - and in the case of porcini - foraging too.
Looking forward to the next adventure…
